Rosemary Gladstar, often called the godmother of American herbalism, has been a leading figure in the field for over 45 years. Though she didn’t always plan to be an herbalist, she has long felt a deep connection to plants and has inspired a new generation with her passion for herbalism.
Thomas Easley
Thomas Easley, RH(AHG), is a clinical herbalist and founder of the Eclectic School of Herbal Medicine. He combines modern science with traditional Western herbalism to promote health through diet, stress management, supplements, and exercise. A member of the American Herbalists Guild, he co-authored Modern Herbal Dispensatory, a guide to preparing and using herbal medicine.
Christopher Hobbs
Dr. Christopher Hobbs, a founding member of the American Herbalists Guild, is a fourth-generation herbalist with over 35 years of experience. Trained in phylogenetics and phytochemistry at UC Berkeley, he is a renowned herbalist, acupuncturist, author, and researcher. He has written 14 books and is building a large herbal medicine database from his collection of over 5,000 texts.
Marlene Adelman
Marlene Adelman, founder of the Herbal Academy, is dedicated to making herbal education accessible and inclusive. She bridges the gap between herbalists and the wider world by offering affordable, online courses that blend science, tradition, and community. Her mission reached new heights with a free Herbal Materia Medica Course that drew 23,000 students worldwide.
